Minimum Qualifications:
* Senior nursing student, an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
* Current BLS certification required.
* The nurse resident will be required to obtain current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license within 60 days of graduating from an accredited school of nursing.
* Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members; ability to be flexible, prioritize care, time management, critically think and use proper judgment in difficult situations.

POSITION SUMMARY`
The Nurse Resident has the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and skill in the practice of nursing under the direct supervision of registered nurse preceptor. The Nurse Resident performs direct and indirect patient care functions under the direction of the RN. These activities prepare the Nurse Resident for the role transition from Nurse Resident to Registered Nurse.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service and excellent nursing care, participating in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Senior nursing student, an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current BLS certification required. The nurse resident will be required to obtain current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license within 60 days of receiving there ATT date from an accredited school of nursing.

EXPERIENCE: Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members; ability to be flexible, prioritize care, time management, critically think and use proper judgment in difficult situations. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents will be trained appropriately and competency will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazard and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances and potential injury.
Reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching approximately 25% of a workday; visual and physical ability required to work at a computer terminal; standing and walking approximately 50% of a workday; lifting approximately 25-50 pounds frequently and or 50-100 with assistance occasionally; physical abilities required to push, pull or transport equipment and patients.
