As our client’s Staff Accountant, you’ll dive into complex real estate structures, collaborate across functions, and play a pivotal role in fund administration, audits, and tax workpapers. What You'll Do as a Staff Accountant :
Accounting & Reporting: Uphold fund integrity through meticulous accounting, reporting, and compliance across all entities, transactions, and data inputs.
Investor/Entity Compliance: Safeguard investor interests by meticulously managing capital, records, and communications across systems and regulations.
Ad hoc Reporting/Project Implementation Assistance
Management: Effectively manage your support staff, including distributed team members, fostering open communication and providing regular feedback to ensure optimal performance and task completion.
Be prepared to take on additional tasks as assigned by the Accounting department to contribute to departmental goals and objectives.
Actively collaborate with other departments, undertaking assigned tasks that contribute to the broader company goals and objectives.
Top Requirements of the Staff Accountant:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree a plus
Exposure to funds, fund accounting
Public accounting experience (preferred)
What You’ll Bring to the Staff Accountant Role:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree a plus
CPA preferred, but not required
3+ years of Public Accounting or 5+ years of Real Estate Accounting experience
Real Estate and Investment Fund Accounting proficiency required
Preferred experience in Partnership Tax Return Preparation
Working knowledge of Entity Compliance
Strong team player with the ability to prioritize tasks from different managers
Driven to learn and succeed, taking full ownership of responsibilities
Intrinsic motivation to grow and understand the urgent nature of the business
Excellent business writing skills a plus
Proactive problem-solving attitude with a commitment to follow through on decisions
