Reporting Responsibility Studio Programs Manager
Position SummaryThe Studio Programs Coordinator assists with the planning and implementation of collection- and exhibition-related studio programs for all ages and the oversight of studio spaces and a student gallery. This position becomes available as Joslyn prepares to reopen after a two-year closure for a transformative building expansion and renovation project nears completion.
Major Duties- Assist Studio Programs Manager in developing year-round art class and camp program for preschool through adult audiences
- Work with Studio Programs Manager to maintain studio spaces, including purchase and care of supplies and equipment, and administration of studio procedures and policies
- Assemble necessary documents (rosters, sign-in sheets, emergency contacts, special accommodations, etc.) for each class
- Help to create instructional resources for studio programs
- Contribute to collaborative planning and implementation of studio components for school tours and community events
- Assist with administration and installation of student exhibitions
- Support Studio Programs Manager with tasks related to recruitment and supervision of teaching staff and scheduling of teen volunteers
- Substitute for occasional studio sessions as needed
- Participate in relevant trainings, webinars, and community gatherings to grow skills and build a professional network
- Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Be knowledgeable about Museum activities, services, and layout and be willing to assist any visitor and ensure a positive experience
- Other duties related to Learning & Engagement department as assigned
Qualifications- Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferably in studio art, art education, or related field) or commensurate equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of experience in arts instruction or administration, or other relevant teaching or administrative experience
- Strong problem-solving abilities for unexpected challenges and troubleshooting skills with technology
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop)
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Reliable transportation
Salary Starting Salary: $38,000
