Duties and Responsibilities - Operates Medium and Heavy duty commercial passenger vehicles;
- Transports Students, Faculty, and Staff as needed;
- Provides Chauffer and Courier services to the campus community when necessary;
- Ensures the operational readiness of equipment and performs basic maintenance service activities;
- Ensures passenger safety at all times and resolves passenger issues;
- Schedules and maintains records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, emissions and all other requirements for State vehicles;
- Maintains transportation database to ensure proper scheduling of travel requests and rentals of University vehicles (buses, cars and vans);
- Records fuel and oil consumptions, mileage, hourly operation, and maintenance activities;
- Loads equipment to transport passengers, delivers equipment, materials and/or documents;
- Ensures operational readiness by performing basic maintenance to all University vehicles i.e. cleaning, washing and waxing.

Minimum Qualifications
These are the job duties for required of the position
Education High School diploma or GED required.
Experience A Minimum two (2) years of related work experience in the operation of medium or heavy duty commercial passenger vehicles requiring a CDL license; Valid Federal Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement and no air brake restrictions.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of the care and operation of automotive transportation vehicles; skilled in driving in all kinds of weather and on all road conditions; ability to assist passengers and to lift heavy objects. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Conditions of Employment Candidates must have a clean driving record and a valid Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with passenger endorsement. Candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol education and testing as required under the Federal Highway Administration and the State of Maryland regulations.
