Job description
POSITION PURPOSE
Under general supervision of the Director, the Central Supply Tech supplies hospital departments with needed patient care items, (chargeable and non-chargeable) by taking accurate inventories on a daily basis on each respective unit. Also responsible for collection of, and routing of, daily patient charges from each unit to Central Supply Supervisor for processing. Will also pull supplies necessary for surgical cases on a daily basis. As a service department, will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of customer service at all times.

6. Informs Supervisor as to supplies that are running low.
7. Assists in purchasing as needed.
8.Maintains clean and orderly department, including sweeping, emptying garbage containers, keeping shelf stock organized and stock rotated, cleans exchange carts twice monthly per procedure.
9.Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI.
10. Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
11. Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns appropriately.
Performs all other related functions as directed.
LATITUDE, CONTACTS/INTERACTIONS
All positions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital are part of an interdisciplinary team, and as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members. Primarily interacts with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: prior inventory control experience in healthcare setting preferred.
Required Skills: Excellent computer skills and legible handwriting required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent: sitting, standing, walking, & reaching.
Occasional: lifting, carrying, bending, & squatting,
Visual and hearing acuity required. Work is inside, with good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
Possible exposure to: toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens.
