The Opportunity:
Reporting to the  Employee Benefits Department Leader, the Health Strategist will develop an effective organizational health and well-being strategy for Hylant clients focused on improving the lives of employees and their families.  The Health Strategist is an integral part of the employee benefits sales and service team.

The Health Strategist will serve the Michigan offices and will ideally be physically located in or around the Michigan area with the ability to work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule. S/He will ideally have 3-5 years of wellness/well-being consulting experience, exceptional analytical, relational, and critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and present internally and externally.  

In This Role You Will Execute On:

 

  1. Along with Hylant internal staff, meet at a minimum of once per year with Hylant clients to evaluate well-being strategy readiness, goals and needs through discovery process
  2. Establish a successful and measurable Health Strategies Roadmap for clients who choose to move beyond the discovery phase
  3. Proactively analyze client data available to strategically consult and advise client on health strategy recommendations and work with service team to evaluate and/or implement program(s) or solution(s)
  4. Routinely engage with clients and internal employee benefits team to ensure the activities described in the Health Strategies Roadmap are progressing as expected and previously described
  5. Participate in the stewardship process with internal employee benefits team and clients
  6. Contribute to the success and progression of the health strategies practice by creating new internal/external content and developing innovative and strategic client solutions and tools
  7. Annually review carrier partner and well-being vendor partner offerings and disseminate updates to clients and internal team
  8. Regularly complete wellness compliance reviews for all appropriate health strategy clients
  9. Coordinate and execute wellness-related events and trainings for clients and prospects
  10. Support fellow health strategists and/or health strategy clients or prospects as needed
  11. Partner with Client Executives to develop new relationships and new business by participating in capabilities and finalist meetings

In This Role You Will Need:

 

  1. 3-5 years of Employee Benefits and/or Health Strategist and/or wellness/well-being experience
  2. The ability to recognize and adapt to various client cultures, as well as, multiple decision makers
  3. Possess collaborative, critical thinking, and persuasive skills that can guide clients through a measurable, impactful strategic plan and program outcomes
  4. Effectively communicate programming and potential impact at both member and executive levels
  5. Become knowledgeable (or have knowledge of) and accountable for understanding the respective market vendor offerings and reporting tools, including carrier offerings, technology, and well-being vendors
  6. Proactively analyze, interpret, and present population health data to internal employee benefits team and client to recommend strategic solutions
  7. Gain expertise in worksite wellness compliance regulations, and perform annual compliance review for appropriate employee benefits clients
  8. Be a resource and technical expert on the value of Health Strategies to both clients and prospective clients
  9. Present as a confident and knowledgeable representative of Hylant at respective employee benefits and health and well-being events and client meetings
  10. Continuously acquire new knowledge and expertise through continuing education in various areas related to health & well-being best practices, behavior change methodology, employee benefits, compliance, etc.
  11. Execute excellent written and verbal communication skills
