National Grid is seeking a Lead Electrical Substation Engineering & Design for our Northboro or Waltham, MA location.

Job Purpose
To lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives of the enterprise wide electricity distribution and transmission.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure the timely development of distribution construction designs and plans in order to meet business plan goals.
Interface externally with major industrial and commercial customers, as well as major residential developers, local inspection and approval authorities, and other external bodies.
Ensure that designs adhere to company construction standards, and that the scope meets design requirements.
Approve designs created by assigned represented employees, ensuring quality and functionality requirements are met.
Work alongside work stream leads to ensure work streams are managing tasks and meeting project deadlines.
Take responsibility for mobilizing and managing project teams, and delivering tangible business benefits.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Able to motivate, counsel, coach, and develop direct reports and others.
Experience establishing clearly defined goals and standards of employee performance.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or science is required
5-7 years experience in Power industry/ Preferred substation area
Advanced degree, Professional License (PE) or certification is a plus
Black Belt in Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma and/ or Continuous Improvement, LCS Lean Certification (desirable)

Salary
$120,000 - $155,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
