ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

ExxonMobil is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to provide technology development support for a variety of projects including Conventional Oil & Gas, Unconventionals and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS). The successful candidate will be responsible for working with multi-discipline teams (reservoir / geoscience / data science) to provide support in ideation, planning, documentation, development, stewardship and execution of new technologies. The position is located at ExxonMobil Spring campus in Texas. ExxonMobil will not consider qualified candidates without permanent right to work in the US
The role involves a combination of technical, analytical, and project management responsibilities to drive innovation and efficiency in upstream oil and gas operations and modeling workflows, including carbon capture and sequestration applications.
Supporting Technology Development: Coordinate with Business Units, Project Teams and Management to assist in the development and implementation of differentiating technologies across subsurface workflows focused on reservoir modeling and simulation.
Technology Management: Oversee the development and management of technology solutions by facilitating the technology stage-gate process and supporting research and development efforts.
Process Optimization: Contribute to the design and optimization of processes and workflows for the efficient and safe production of oil and gas as well as carbon capture and sequestration, while mitigating risks.
Technology Development Strategy: Work with project teams to monitor and evaluate in-house and external technology development options to advocate for and settle on optimal strategy.
Presentation: Work with project teams to develop effective presentation materials to communicate value/progress of technology development efforts.
Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results through a multi-discipline team.
Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills are essential. Technical skill requirements are as follows:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering. Master's or PhD in the related areas (preferably Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical) will be an advantage
6-15 years of experience in the area of reservoir modeling and simulation is required.
Previous experience in analytical performance prediction, data management, and technical report writing is required.
Exposure to reservoir modeling and simulation studies, modeling workflows, uncertainty assessment, pressure transient test analysis will provide additional advantage.
Strong reservoir modeling/simulation skills
Technology development experience
Project management experience
Awareness/experience with Petrel workflows, Python scripting, data analytics, surrogate modeling, optimization
Awareness of advances in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to challenges in reservoir evaluation and management
