Job description

Boys Town and Boys Town National Research Hospital are changing the way America cares for children and families. As one of the largest national child and family care organizations in the country, and one of the leading research hospitals in the country, Boys Town is currently looking for an Application Analyst. In this role, you will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and to optimize applications to support their objectives. Configures, maintains and supports software applications to enhance productivity and efficiency. Responds to customer inquiries and data requests, sets up user permissions, and resolves application issues for both internal and external users.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Ensures the availability and reliability of our organization's software applications.

Monitors application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.

Assists end-users with technical issues related to applications, including troubleshooting, providing guidance, and offering training when necessary.

Collaborates with various departments to gather and document their software requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of user needs and business objectives.

Customizes and configures applications to meet specific departmental requirements while adhering to industry best practices.

Develops and implements testing procedures to ensure the functionality and reliability of software applications. Identify and address bugs or issues in a timely manner.

Creates and maintains comprehensive application documentation, including user guides, process manuals, and technical specifications.

Keeps applications up to date by applying patches, upgrades, and updates as necessary.

Ensures application compatibility with other systems and technologies.

Monitors and maintains application security, ensuring data protection and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Collaborates with IT teams, developers, end-users, and vendors to address complex technical issues and optimize application performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.

Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, which allow for troubleshooting via oral and written communication.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma required.

Experience using browser development tools for troubleshooting required.

Experience with operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Linux, or Google Chrome OS required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2 years of application support experience preferred.

Knowledge of Cloud Services preferred.

Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL query skills is preferred.
