Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures for mainframe applications.
- Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on mainframe applications.
- Identify and report defects, issues, and risks in a timely manner using appropriate tools and processes.
- Analyze requirements and technical specifications to ensure test coverage and traceability.
- Configure and maintain test environments, including mainframe systems and related infrastructure.
- Participate in test automation initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support during system integration, user acceptance, and production implementation phases.
- Document test results, procedures, and findings for reference and audit purposes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to mainframe testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Tester or similar role in testing mainframe applications.
- Strong understanding of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.
- Proficiency in mainframe testing tools and utilities such as IBM Rational Functional Tester, IBM Rational Performance Tester, Xpediter, and File-AID.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, testing frameworks, and version control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices is desirable.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance practices.
