We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a the Initial CPS Case Aide for the Waukesha Safety and Family Engagement (SAFE) Program. SAFE is a collaborated team of Safety Services Workers, Supervised Family Interactions Workers, and Case Aides working together to maintain safety in homes where children are at-risk for removal or are in the reunification process. The SAFE program places an emphasis on helping families develop formal and informal systems of support and resources. The Initial CPS Case Aide works closely with the Initial Assessors within the Waukesha County Initial Child Protective Services (CPS) Unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INITIAL CPS CASE AIDE:
- Answer intake calls, evaluate needs, conduct home visits, and refer for professional or para-professional follow-up.
- Communicate with clients, staff, and providers on a variety of case-related issues to resolve problems and to provide and gather information.
- Work closely with assigned social worker and family to coordinate and supervise visitation between parent and the children placed outside of the home.
- Assist assigned social worker with other duties and documentation needed regarding out of home placements.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, community, agencies, insurance companies, courts, volunteers, and the general public.
- Establish and maintain list of community resources available for clients and directs clients to appropriate resources.
- Maintain and/or schedules appointments and calendars for a variety of upcoming case activities; follow through with required action; and track and monitors case activities to ensure completion.
- Assist in representing department in court and administrative hearings related to denial, change, or cancellation of services for a client; and testify in court at child welfare, adult protection, and restitution hearings.
- Safely transport clients as needed.
LOCATION: Office is located in Waukesha, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients in the community, with mileage reimbursement. Flexibility for hybrid/remote scheduling up to two days per week! Must be able to meet in-person with clients in Waukesha County, WI.
SCHEDULE: Hours are typically Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with some evenings.

SALARY: $19.00 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
- Previous experience working with at-risk youth and families.
