Job description
General Description of Position:The STEM Education Coordinator leads engineering outreach activities and development of programs which integrate CAD, 3D printing and robotics to support engineering education in K-12 and college levels. This position is responsible for coordinating STEM outreach in northern Virginia with regional partners.Duties and Tasks:Facilitates and coordinates STEM integration programming at elementary, secondary, postsecondary, and adult levels.Work with NOVA faculty and staff to coordinate, plan, implement and assess STEM programs at the elementary, secondary, postsecondary students.Specifically focuses on Engineering and Engineering Technology education including curriculum development for associated activities.Coordinate, develop and contract instruction in the engineering, engineering technology and robotics subject areas for faculty, teachers, and staff to support NOVA programs.Work with community, business, and education partners to get volunteer participation for programs including but not limited to robotics and engineering STEM related activities.Administrative tasks associated with assigned projects including budgeting and reporting.Support grant funded activities include preparing proposals, analysis of progress/implementation, data collection, and stakeholder communications.Reports to the Director of NOVA SySTEMic and is expected to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse college community.SPECIAL ASSISNMENTSMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.**This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.
