Job description
General Summary and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality goods and services. This position requires a combination of strong analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Essential Functions: - Supplier Identification and Evaluation
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, assessing their financial stability, quality, on-time delivery, and production capacity.
- Negotiation and Contract Management
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Draft and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Cost Analysis and Optimization
- Analyze costs associated with suppliers and the procurement process while identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Implement strategies to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to address issues, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement.
Other Duties: - Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure a stable and reliable supply of goods and services.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and quality assurance, to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Market Trends and Innovation:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and innovations.
- Introduce new and innovative suppliers and technologies to enhance the company's competitive advantage.
Job Specifications: Education / Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: - Proven experience as a Sourcing Manager or in a similar role, with at least 3-5 years in supply chain.
- Manufacturing experience in supply chain is preferred.
Skills: - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & MRP systems.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, including organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in written form, including ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
- Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Supervision Received: - Reports to the Director of Supply Chain, but must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.
Scope and Impact: - Performing duties to a high level is required to maintain customer on-time delivery, product quality, and brand equity.
Working Conditions: - Casual office atmosphere.
