Job description
The Sr. Engineer, Financial Systems spearheads all of the application development and support activities across the full Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Applications portfolio. Provides design oversight and serves as technical escalation point for the development, implementation and support of business applications and IT solutions within Information Technology. Provides SME knowledge, technical planning expertise in the areas of application architecture, application design, software development, performance, testing, implementation, and infrastructure. Ensures that the delivered solution meets the technical specifications and design requirements, and all development practices complies with the enterprise standards, best practices policies and procedures. This role will drive technical implementation of in-house application development as well as integration of vendor purchased products and operates across technology boundaries by collaborating with others to fill in gaps in knowledge.

Bachelor’s degree in information technology / software engineering / computer science / business.
Master’s degree is a plus.
Hands-on, proven expertise and experience with implementations and application support of off the shelf and SaaS based Oracle ERP applications.
Primary career focus on Oracle eBusiness Suite or PeopleSoft Financials as well as expertise with NetSuite / Oracle Cloud Financials and other related technologies in a Financial Systems Shared Services environment.
System Development Life Cycle - Methodology knowledge and practical experience.
Project Management Life Cycle – understanding of PMLC.
Understanding of Data Privacy including PII and PCI Compliance.
At-least five (5) full implementations or upgrade Software Development Life Cycle experiences with Oracle’s Enterprise Resource Planning suite of products, specifically, PeopleSoft, Oracle eBS, and NetSuite, Cloud Financials with regard to the design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
At-least five (5) years’ experience with and acting as subject matter expert on Oracle ERP products within the Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Acquire to Retire, Project Initiate to Close processes.
For eBusiness Suite: excellent working knowledge in designing, developing, and implementing customizations, extensions, interfaces, queries, and reports using Oracle Forms, Reports, SQL, PL/SQL, API, OAF (Oracle Application Framework), SOA, Workflows, Rest API, BI Publisher, and OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) on Release 12 through Cloud Financials.
For PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleTools: excellent working knowledge in designing, developing, and implementing customizations, extensions, interfaces, queries, and reports using App designer, People Code, App Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface, XML Publisher, PS Query and SQR reporting on Release 9.2 through Cloud Financials.
Experience in Data Migration and Integration of Oracle modules with third-party applications.
Oracle certifications preferred.
At-least five (5) years of experience with Oracle and Microsoft Database products.
Demonstrated knowledge across infrastructure disciplines and technologies and has a broad understanding of IT standards and methodologies.
Strong functional, analytical, troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment.
Ability to learn rapidly and to apply formal training to new software environments.
10 years professional experience in software application engineering
5+ years of experience as a software architect, systems analyst, software engineer of which 2+ years must be in a technical lead role capacity
Experience in business process improvement and systems convergence initiatives.
Experience working with offshore development teams
Ability to compose technical specifications, including requirements specification, API specifications, Functional specifications.
Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.
Ability to work and effectively communicate with IT management personnel, peers and outside vendors.
Strong functional, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in working with offshore consultants within a 24/7 support model.
Experience with XML and enterprise integration technologies including Web Services (SOAP/WSDL).
Experience with both cloud and on-premises technologies preferred.
Possession of outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills.
Strong business analysis background.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
