A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN AT DWT:

On a typical day, you will assemble, install and integrate mechanical components into aerospace/defense systems following blueprints, technical manuals and engineering specifications. Thorough inspection and testing are conducted of mechanical equipment to identify defects, malfunctions or wear and tear. If problems arise, you may diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement efficient solutions including performing maintenance, repair, or calibration to meet precise specifications and operational requirements. This role requires you to maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and military procedures. You'll collaborate with engineers and provide technical support, training, and guidance to junior technicians and staff. All DWT employees are required to adhere to safety protocols and regulations to guarantee the highest level of safety for military personnel and equipment.
