POSITION SUMMARY : This Learning & Technology Consultant position is an on-campus, in-person role in order to provide the maximum availability to students. Under the guidance and supervision of the Teaching & Learning Center & Testing Center Manager, responsibilities of this position include providing in-person or online learning support for currently enrolled students (at Delta College's main campus or any of its learning centers). Learning & Technology Consultants should be content-area specialists in a minimum of two disciplines with general ability to work with students in other subjects/courses and technologies across the curriculum. Additionally, Learning & Technology Consultants may substitute as class-embedded support. Familiarity with research on learning and proficiency in the development/ application of learning strategies, study skills, and test-taking techniques is preferred. When working directly with students, Learning & Technology Consultants offer individualized support in content-areas as well as learning, study, and test taking strategies; facilitate small group sessions and workshops; and consult with students about course-related technology issues. When not working directly with students, Learning & Technology Consultants document learning support sessions, participate in professional development opportunities, engage in outreach activities, create educational materials, develop training resources for students (or professional development materials for other College staff), participate in meetings, and provide technical support for the TracCloud scheduling/data management system and other learning support technologies used in the department.
