The EDI Assistant I is responsible for overseeing EDI transmissions, testing, research and compliance for all jurisdictions where MEMIC is licensed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile EDI error reports and acknowledgement reports for EDI transmissions in multiple jurisdictions to ensure timely and successful transmission of claims data.
- Partner and maintain relationships with vendors, medical providers and jurisdictional parties to ensure compliance, penalties, testing and other EDI issues are resolved appropriately and timely.
- Input First Report of Injury (FROI) and Subsequent Report of Injury (SROI) for EDI transmission on external MEMIC partner sites as appropriate per jurisdictional requirements.
- Research EDI compliance standards and maintain compliance models for all jurisdictions where MEMIC is licensed. Test and prepare trading agreements with new jurisdictions.
- Research, respond and track First Report of Injury filings that have resulted in penalties for not recording timely in multiple jurisdictions.
- Support compliance team goals by assisting with special projects or tasks as directed by Manager, Claim Compliance.
- Work closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to provide compliance support, feedback, and assistance regarding compliance requirements and regulations.
- Monitor specific areas of concern where compliance risk is high and reports to Manager, Claim Compliance where there are issues of non-compliance.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of customer service and/or compliance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange and workers’ compensation in multiple jurisdictions a plus.
- Must be organized and detailed oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must have strong ability to prioritize tasks and focus.
- Speed and accuracy in typing a must.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
- Knowledge of state specific reporting requirements preferred.

The expected salary range for this position is $43,000 - $48,000 annually.
