We are hiring an AM and PM shift for this position.
SUMMARY
Responsible for the preparation and serving of all alcoholic beverages at the Timberline Bar & Grill, to contribute to guest satisfaction and premier customer service atmosphere. Full-time and part-time positions available.
Pay and Benefits:
Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Sign-on Bonus and Layoff Employee Bonus Plan (“Plans”) is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.
Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value.
Starting Wage: $14.00- DOE
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of sales of Alcohol and selling Nature center Products
- Coordinates sales receipts reporting with the Front of House Manager and staff.
- Stocks and maintains alcohol and products for ongoing inventory.
- Responsible for adherence to standard bar opening, operating, and closing procedures, along with ability to handle all complaints quickly and efficiently, in the customers’ best interests.
- Ensures workspace and equipment are kept sanitary and in an orderly manner
- Ensures liquor serving laws and TB&G House Alcohol Policy are being followed; maintains high service standards pertaining to customer conduct
- Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned by the Front of House Manager.
- Staying knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promotes merchandise to increase customers’ options and enrich the shopping experience
- Processing orders in a prompt manner using a POS (point of sale) system
- Promoting special sales, offers and awareness of store loyalty program
- Explain characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
- Ensures daily that the Nature Center is cleaned, fully stocked and neat in appearance.
- Assists with opening and closing procedures.
- Assists with training of staff when appropriate.
- Operates the cash register; makes and records cash receipt transactions.
- Assumes all responsibility for Nature Center till.
- Assists with hauling supplies to/from retail locations
NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge and familiarity with State of Alaska liquor laws.
- Knowledge of computerized cash register systems, cash collection procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
- Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
- Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to handle stress under pressure.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Ability and willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle heavy customer contact and excellent customer service skills.
- A positive focus and customer service skills is in order to ensure the return of our customers.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
- Current Training for Alcohol Professional (TAP) card.
- One (1) year of bartender experience.
- State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Drug testing may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
- Three (3) or more years’ experience as a bartender.
