Job description
- Managing all aspects of the assigned department to ensure it meets the established goals and operational standards set in support of overall agency performance.
- Support of Five Acres’ strategic goals, mission, & values; ensuring quality service, audit, and fiscal performance.
- Performs supervisory duties including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, development and evaluating department staff; manages performance, conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary increases; takes disciplinary measures as needed.
- Drafts and recommends new policies and procedures to improve agency outcomes or increase efficiency of administrative operations; ensures staff follow established practices, policies and procedures to achieve compliance with Agency expectations and standards.
- Participates in the development and management of the department budget; monitors expenses and ensures compliance with approved budgets; seeks and implements methods to maintain cost effectiveness.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other agency department staff to coordinate services and functions as needed.
- Maintains working knowledge of department standards and policies developed by Five Acres, Community Care Licensing and other regulatory bodies; develops personal and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the art practices and participating in in-service programs where required.
- Ensures all documentation and applicable systems are properly maintained in accordance with Agency, contract and policies and requirements; institutes audits of documentation as needed.
- Incorporates Agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job description.
- Represents the department at community and professional meetings; leads and participates in department staff supervision and support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
- Receives feedback with commitment to on-going refinement and professional growth.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding employees and client operations of the agency.
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:
- LMFT, LPCC or LCSW preferred license issued by the State of California, plus a minimum of two years post-licensure experience.
- Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated managerial skills sufficient to manage one or more departments through working supervisors.
- Very effective communication skills both oral and written, including public speaking; bi-lingual skills in Spanish/English are preferred.
- Demonstration of good judgment in making decisions, utilizing strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
- Computer skills sufficient to meet production demands of the job including Microsoft Office and other required software
- Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among the clients, families and staff.
- A keen appreciation and understanding of the Agency’s mission and strategic goals.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families and operations of the Agency.
Compensation Range: $88,023/yr - $146,705/yr
