Job description
Zero Labs Automotive is searching for a Los Angeles only based Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a Project manager, you have a proven history bringing a physical product to market from concept, prototype, testing to retail launch. Your focus will be to work with internal teams and local vendors to assure a 2021 manufacturing launch. You'll lead projects schedule, prioritizing tasks, and updating them frequently on project progress. Success hinges on organizing internal team resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on-budget, and specifications with a heavy emphasis on producing a repeatable quality product model.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes
- Proven history bringing a product to market from concept to retail launch
- Experience working with Los Angeles based vendors
- PMP certified Project Management Professional
- Experience working with overseas vendors
- 2+ years of experience in project management and/or operations experience.
- Experience working and communicating with cross-functional teams (Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Leadership, etc.)
- Agency, automotive, or enterprise experience with the ability to manage multiple projects at once with excellent client-facing skills.
- Team player, self-motivated and able to take ownership of the assigned task(s)
- Experience within the automotive or manufacturing industry
- Experience as a Product Owner or/and Technical Team Lead
- Strong writing skills, project coordination experience, and attention to detail
- Experience working with SMARTSHEET, Google Sheets, excel, and comparable PM software tools
- High School diploma or equivalent. College degree is a plus
- Valid in-state driver's license and a safe driving record
- Tech-savvy
- Project Management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Being hands-on and on the ground
Requirements
- Be detail-obsessed, know the weight, cost, and specs for every part.
- Work closely with the design and engineering team
- Generate quote estimations based on previously quoted parts and projects
- Adapt and learn new technologies and manufacturing processes
- Compile accurate quote based on vendor pricing
- Source new materials for upcoming projects
- Constantly source new vendors (Los Angeles and Overseas based)
- Collaborate with production and design leads to generate the most effective design solutions and accurate pricing
- Work with overseas production team through manufacturing
- Coordinate client projects liaising between internal and external stakeholders.
- Keep in-house project management systems up to date and accurate.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Organize client meetings on behalf of the team members.
- Support design and development teams with on developing and optimizing our production model and process
- Run work reports and send weekly progress updates to internal team leaders.
- Mechanical Engineering experience (a plus)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing etc.)
- 10+ years of experience in the automotive and/or EV industry
- 7+ years of experience in medium to high volume production manufacturing of automobiles.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective relationships across technical and business teams globally.
- Extensive experience of Automotive Quality Manufacturing standards
- Experience with Overall company quality system architect, R&D quality + design quality (engineering related), Software quality, Supply chain quality, MFG quality, UES quality (including after sales quality)
- Proven experience with product delivery of multiple programs
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or PhD in an Engineering Discipline is desirable.
- Experience in the Global Manufacturing automotive market
- Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
- A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting
- Black Belt in Six Sigma
