Position Description:The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine invites applications for a 100% postdoctoral position within the Department of Radiology.
The primary focus of this research position is to assist in innovative MR image reconstruction and pulse sequence methods. The successful applicants will join the collaboration with researchers and clinicians at the MR Research Facility, Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging (IIBI) and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics (UIHC) on the development of advanced Pediatric MR research with a primary focus on the brain and/or heart (e.g., MR spectroscopic imaging, MR elastography, susceptibility mapping and/or dynamic imaging). The candidate will be also encouraged to explore other research opportunities or collaborations within the group. Tools and techniques to be developed include but are not limited to MR pulse sequences, machine learning-based reconstruction algorithms and image analysis pipelines. These approaches will provide highly efficient high-dimensional MRI image acquisition and reconstruction.
We seek an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong background in signal processing or MR physics with experience working with MRI data and MR scanners. Knowledge of machine learning methods is a plus. The postdoc will be exposed to diverse brain and cardiac MRI exams for both pediatric and adult population. The primary infrastructure for MRI exams involves both 1.5 and 3T General Electric and Siemens scanners.
