Job description
Be part of the leadership team for a community mental health agency who is dedicated to serving the needs of a diverse population. The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board is seeking an experienced licensed clinician to serve as the Supervisor of Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) - Arbor House. Arbor House provides around the clock residential crisis programing and serves adults experiencing a mental health crisis. This position provides program leadership and oversight to the daily operations, including but not limited to clinical supervision to program staff, ensuring appropriate staffing for all shifts, overseeing the clinical interventions provided to participants, and assuring the program is meeting all regulatory requirements. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral format. Qualified applicants must hold a professional license (LPC or LCSW) within the State of Virginia and be eligible to provide clinical supervision to LMHP-E staff. Preferred candidates will have a history of supervisory experience and/or program development within behavioral health and/or related field.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assures the accessible and effective 24-hour delivery of residential crisis stabilization services to all those deemed appropriate for such services.
- Supervises and schedules the work of crisis stabilization staff members, including shift coverage, and the coordination of adjunct staff with other CSB departments.
- Provides programmatic leadership to all staff, including planning, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating the active treatment and supports delivered daily to residents.
- Provides program-specific and ongoing training to staff regarding recovery, clinical care, medical management, and risk management issues related to crisis stabilization services.
- Makes admission and discharge decisions in conjunction with the Emergency Services Supervisor and the Director of Behavioral Health Services as needed, as well as in conjunction with CSU Nursing and CSU Case Coordinator.
- In coordination with the Director of Behavioral Health Services, assists in developing and revising program policies and procedures for daily operations to reflect current practices and to meet current standards including licensing, Medicaid, and all DBHDS requirements.
- Meets, as needed, with other CSB coordinators/supervisors and with the Directors to plan for the effective utilization of the crisis stabilization program.
- Represents the program with other stakeholders, including other CSBs who refer individuals to the program, and hospital personnel (e.g., SRMH, WSH, etc.).
- Provides data as required for performance contract, reimbursement, and program planning/evaluation purposes, by assuring the collection of data is carried out as prescribed.
- Assures maintenance of records and documentation in compliance with Board policy and procedures, and licensing and other regulatory requirements.
- Manages the facility by initiating and coordinating services/repairs to maintain the facility in a safe and attractive manner to meet welfare, fire and building codes. Modifies environment, program, and materials to meet physical disability needs of residents.
- Participates in the annual budget preparation and monitors budget throughout the fiscal year.
- Maintains and assures that staff maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers based on courtesy, compassion, and respect.
- Makes effective use of available technology, including computers, e-mail, and voice mail in order to enhance customer service.
- Is responsible for other duties as assigned, consistent with established policy and procedure.
