Job description
Acuren is recruiting for an I&E Consultant to support our operations in Farmington, NM , Casper WY & Midland, TX. This is a Full-Time benefit eligible role which is currently scheduled to work 50 hours per week with more hours worked as available. Per diem available if GSA requirements are met.
- Executes specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site in accordance with Company specifications and applicable Codes.
- Write reports on supplied tablet to document fabrication/installation progress.
- Checks cable laying and cable identification.
- Performs all relevant loop checks.
- Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, socket outlets, lighting system.
- Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
- Witness tests of continuity, insulation resistance.
- Checks installation of instruments.
- Witness test on functional instruments.
- Checks pneumatic signal connection.
- Witness test communication functionalities.
- Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.
- Travel to shop, well and pipeline installations that the client is currently developing throughout the Permian Basin.
- Area of Operations include L48 assets for client. Based out of Farmington, NM with travel <25% to Casper, WY and Midland, TX. Majority of work will be performed in a shop environment with minimal travel to the field as needed.
- Travel is paid at GSA mileage rates for all activities from the assigned office of operation.
- Per diem is paid at GSA rates for the area worked in for those that meet the GSA mileage requirements.
- Previous construction experience within the oil and gas industry
- Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives
- Exposure to Hazardous Area installations
- Instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meter, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a comparable role
- A working knowledge of IEC/ISO/NEC/ANSI/API/ISA/NFPA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work
- Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work
- Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package.
- Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Willing and able (with reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis
- Mileage traveled paid from office of operation to work site at GSA rates
- Per diem available if GSA requirements are met.
- Daily truck allowance.
- Knowledge in mechanical (AWS/AAMP) inspection a plus
