About the role:
As a member of the Summit Corporate Accounting Team, you will be working in a fast-paced and high-growth environment while building cross-functional relationships internally as well as with our related platform companies. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about excellence, detail-oriented, creative, communicative, and team members who can look beyond the numbers to problem solve, support corporate growth, and make a significant impact on our clients via daily contributions to the Finance and Accounting Team.
What You’ll Do:
- Support corporate innovation and growth by applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
- Develop corporate financial statements by gathering and analyzing information and entering the data into the system of record.
- Complete the month-end close and consolidation.
- Complete daily cash accounting, account clearing, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations and analysis, and prepare schedules for internal and external reporting including audits.
- Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules.
- Complete corporate billing including monitoring and applying payments to client accounts.
- Prepare and complete routine payment processing to ensure vendors are paid promptly.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process including planning, variance analysis, and variance remediation.
- Assist with payroll accounting and expense accounting/reconciliation.
- Assist in implementing appropriate accounting practices and internal controls.
- Document existing and updated accounting and finance-related processes.
- Identify opportunities for and facilitate continuous process improvement to increase efficiency and scalability.
Education & Experience:
- The Senior Accountant candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, business administration, or a related degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 2-3+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
- Public accounting experience or experience working at a large company is preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data and ensuring its accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Highly skilled in the use of ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus).
- Highly skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel Spreadsheets including the use of formulas such as VLOOKUP’s, HLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels in an organization and working in teams.
- Strong ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, pay attention to details, and ensure deadlines are met.
