Job description
Ardmore Roderick is seeking Sr. Engineer, Engineer, and Associate Engineer positions to assist in the preparation of designs for various projects related to the Electric Utility industry in the Philadelphia and surrounding Tri-State area. These projects may include electric delivery infrastructure & equipment, as well as substation, and utility site design. Candidates must be highly detail oriented and organized.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
- Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices.
- General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, and methods, necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services related to the electric utility industry.
- Ability to participate in field surveys and walkdowns.
Other valued qualifications include:
- Master of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Experience in low to high voltage power design (or related) experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or GIS platforms.
- Electrical Power Engineering Degree
- Engineer in Training License
- Professional Engineer License
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare designs in accordance with all engineering & client standards and criteria.
- Prepare and/or peer review deliverable drawings, calculations, and reports.
- Participate in field walkdowns, design review meetings, and/or conference calls.
- Perform engineering assignments independently (Sr. Engineer), or while under the guidance of an experienced engineer (Associate Engineer and Engineer).
- Advocate engineering decisions, assumptions, and results for designs.
- Track priorities and deadlines of engineering tasks associated to multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
- May direct the engineering tasks associated with a large project or several small projects.
