Job description

We are hiring for an FNP in the Owings Mills area!

Overview:

Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician colleagues, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient's family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care and patient safety. Serves as link integrating relevant research and best practices; and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• In clinical collaboration with the attending physician, provides day to day organizational and clinical direction and leadership of the healthcare team.
• Performs comprehensive history and physical assessment for patients admitted/scheduled to service/practice setting.
• Orders, obtains, and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Establishes medical diagnosis based on history, assessment, and diagnostic findings, with MD collaboration as needed.
• Designs, orders, and documents appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of HPI and diagnostic results, with MD collaboration as needed.

• • Supporting Ownings Mills Satellite family Medicine office
  • Patient Load:
    • Hospital referrals
      • Any patient that visits the ED or hospital needs a primary care appointment within 7 days of visit to assess
      • This NP will see that section of patient population
    • Telemedicine:
      • Primary Care appointments for all ages - offering immediate telemedicine option, they can support that function
    • Pre/Op appointments to prep for surgeries
      • People need testing to assess healthy enough for surgery
      • Will administer those tests on an as needed basis
    • Develop their own panel of patients
      • Will take time to get them, but we can sell that they hired a new FNP recently and they've been adding a lot of their own patients, even more than the Doctor
      • Will phase out the other patients as they develop their own panel, but still support to fill gaps in schedule

  3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing with completion of NP Program
  • DEA and CDS elligible
  • Active BLS
  • Minimum 1 year of field RN work
  Nice to Have Skills
  • EPIC
  • 1-3 years of NP experience
  Schedule/Shift
  Mon-Fri; Open to 4x10's or 5x8s
  Pay:
  115-135k- based on experience
