Job Description
The Audiovisual Field Service Technician's primary role is the repair and maintenance of integrated audiovisual systems and helping manage the customer relationship.
Job Duties
- Interact directly with end-users to gather information necessary to resolve system issues effectively and efficiently.
- Utilize knowledge of equipment and documentation to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain installed audiovisual systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain installed audiovisual systems consistent with Company best practices and industry standards.
- Complete service ticket documenting all findings, course of action, and results.
- Provide preventative maintenance services for various project types and locations.
- Modify existing control and DSP programs, as necessary.
- Time permitting, assist on installations including rough-in of equipment, pull cable, rigging speakers, projectors, screens, etc., setting racks, testing equipment, terminating cables, racks, wall plates and floor-boxes. Aiming speaker systems, setting gain structure, converging video projectors and video walls.
Job Requirements
- Must be self-motivated with a willingness to work within a team environment with limited direction and a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Must be able to interact directly with customers.
- Interested in learning new skills and technologies.
- Experience servicing or operating high end video production systems (Ross, Sony, Panasonic, etc.), audio systems (L'Acoustics, JBL, Yamaha, Digico, Avid), control systems (Ross, Crestron, Q-Sys, Extron, etc.), and production lighting systems is preferred but not a requirement.
- Requires good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Must be results and detail oriented.
- Requires 3+ years of experience installing and servicing general audiovisual equipment and systems.
- Requires ability to interpret detailed one-line diagrams to install, tune and troubleshoot audio/video systems without corrections.
- Must be able to climb and maneuver in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry a twelve-foot ladder.
- Requires experience with Internet and Web-related technologies, Microsoft Office Suite and other department and company related software.
- Must have a strong understanding of networking protocols and standards.
- Must feel comfortable connecting and configuring various AV control and signal processors.
- Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license.
- Must have AVIXA CTS certification. Prefer CTS-I certification or must be working towards it.
