- Associate's degree in Welding or related field from an institutionally accredited college or university;
OR
- Completion of a formal training program in welding from an apprenticeship or an accredited post-secondary institution;
AND
- Five (5) years of welding work experience within the past ten (10) years (recent teaching experience, industry training experience, or a combination may be substituted year for year for recent welding field experience); and
- Candidates must meet at least two of the following requirements:
- Experience or demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentoring, and/or engaging in services to support the success of Hispanic students or other underserved populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of challenges faced by Hispanic students and/or faculty or other underserved populations.
- Proven ability to address and mitigate the disproportionate impacts faced by Hispanic students or other underserved populations at an educational institution or in the workplace.
- Experience or demonstrated commitment to facilitating Hispanic students or other underserved populations navigating a higher education institution.
- Experience or demonstrated commitment to integrating elements of culturally relevant and inclusive pedagogy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and in Spanish;
- Mastery of common manual and semiautomatic welding processes;
- Current AWS/ASME certification;
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector and Certified Welding Educator (CWE); and
- Experience teaching community college students or providing industry training.

About Columbia Basin College
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment. CBC also provides one-year certificates and basic skills for those pursuing a GED or high school diploma. CBC serves approximately 7,000-8,000 students each quarter.Columbia Basin College now offers bachelor degrees in Nursing, Project Management, Applied Management, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Dental Hygiene. These bachelor degrees are in direct response to the needs of our community.
