Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location
Pawtucket, RI | United States
Job description
Encore Fire Protection is an innovative and fast-moving service provider with sights set on becoming the number 1 fire protection company in the industry. The systems we work on literally protect life and property; there is no greater responsibility, and so we need a team that is second to none. As the Talent Acquisition Specialist on our Talent, People, and Culture (TPC) team, you would be given the opportunity to not only join our team but to play a key part in building it for the future.
Our current hiring team is small but mighty (just three people) and we've got a lot on our plates. In this past year we reviewed more than 2,500 applications. We attended over 700 interviews, and ultimately welcomed more than 200 new members to our team! In 2024 we expect to see the same candidate volume (if not more) so the person stepping into this position must be ready to take on an integral role in our process.
Out of the gates, your responsibilities would include:
- Take ownership of our Candidate Review process to ensure all applications are reviewed and responded to timely
- Assume responsibility for maintaining our Applicant Tracking System software(s) which may include communication with vendors and troubleshooting issues to resolution
- Meet and connect with a variety of stakeholders including our Executive Leadership Team and Hiring Managers to facilitate candidate review and interview scheduling
- Creative writing ability so that you can take over responsibility for generating new and exciting job descriptions
- Observe as many first and second round interviews as possible
- Collaboratively work within TPC and HR teams to execute new hire on-boarding efforts
Over time, our hope is that your role would expand to include:
- Develop strong partnerships with our hiring managers. Understand their business objectives and support them in their efforts to source the best candidates
- Proactively source and initiate conversation with potential job applicants
- Lead all first round interviews; participate in 2nd and 3rd round interactions as well as discussions about hire/non-hire decisions
- Craft and persuasively deliver offer letters to candidates
- More! The sky is the limit for our Talent, People, and Culture team so once you've demonstrated your ability you'll have unlimited opportunities to take initiative and lead new projects
Requirements:
To really excel in this position, there are a few non-negotiable requirements:
- Work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. This is honestly the most important thing you can bring to our table so be prepared to give us a few examples of situations where you had to work harder than everyone else to achieve your goals.
- Willingness and ability to follow established processes at a faster than average pace, without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail. Don't worry! Over time, you will earn the credibility to make process improvements but at least initially we'll expect you to execute on the game-plans we know work
- Above average proficiency with technology. Walking in the door, you have to know the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel above all others) beyond that, we need someone with verifiable ability to self-teach other new and emerging platforms
- You must be social media savvy across multiple platforms with an interest and commitment to staying current with emerging trends
- Be prepared to articulate and demonstrate how you manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- A 4-year college degree is preferred but is no substitute for self-confidence, initiative, and unwavering internal motivation to be the best in your field
Benefits:
As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:
- Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role.
- Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
- We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!

- Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and CHANGE as needed.
- Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools
- Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross
- Company sponsored benefits include Short-Term and Long-Term disability insurance and $50,000 life insurance policy.
