Job Summary

We are looking for an Animal Care and Breeding Technician to join our Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs team in La Jolla, CA .

What you will do!

In the  Animal Care and Breeding Technician role , you have the responsibility of maintaining rodent breeding programs and ensuring compliance with SOPs, including animal husbandry, quality, customer expectations, and production goals. To excel in this position, you will need to be highly motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment. You will provide care to the animals by providing them with food, water, clean housing, and waste removal. Additionally, you will perform routine animal health observations, monitor temperature and humidity, and report any issues to your manager.

 

You will be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and housing animals according to SOPs and Animal Receiving Forms. As a part of your role, you will maintain accurate records and vivarium cleanliness. Overall, your focus will be on ensuring that all aspects of the rodent breeding program are carried out with precision and efficiency while meeting the highest standards of animal welfare.

 

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a high school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 1-2 years of experience as an animal technician preferred. AALAS certification is a plus. 

 

The pay range for this position is $22-24 USD per hour . Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
