Job description
Reports To: Payroll Manager
Functions Supervised: None
Primary Functions: Balance and reconcile payroll related general ledger reconciliations for all companies. Ensure integrity of custodial accounts. Prepare monthly and ad hoc Personnel reporting. Reconcile bi-weekly and monthly payroll and prepare related journal entries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: Three years of college level Accounting or equivalent.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Three years experience in a bookkeeping position may be substituted for the three years of accounting.
Experience/Skills: Two years experience as a full-charge bookkeeper with minimal supervision preferred. Thorough understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures. Basic typing and proficiency with 10-key calculator. Experience with automated accounting systems and PC software including Excel and Access preferred.
Tenure: Payroll Accountant II, Category 11, requires twelve months tenure in the Payroll Accountant I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
Salary Pay Range:
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.
In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
