Summary

Perform all assigned maintenance duties within class to include but not limited to Equipment Repairs, Preventative Maintenance, Respond to Emergency breakdowns in a timely manner. Hours are scheduled as need but are generally 9pm to 6:30am

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

\#1 Responsible to move throughout the facility, reach vertical heights up to 150’ to perform repairs, PM’s, and monitor equipment in both open and confined spaces.

\#2 Use of vehicle to transfer selves, tools and equipment to perform and meet the mechanical knowledge, skills and abilities of a “B” Mechanic per attached sheet.

\#3 Performs preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to fabrication, rebuilding of machinery, gearboxes, pumps, etc.

\#4 Respond to emergency breakdowns during both on and off duty hours to ensure operations continue on 24 hours a day basis.

\#5 Generates and submits paperwork relative to work locations such a work orders, timecards, job cards, and any related to meetings, safety, etc.

\#6 Perform all equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations, lockout/tag-out, and Perdue safety book guidelines.

Minimum Education

Reading, writing, math and analytical skills required with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements

2 – 4 years. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required.Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Experience Preferred

Previous industrial mechanical experience

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
