Job description
The Aurora Public School District is currently accepting applications for an Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain, Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsement in Early Childhood and Special Education, or Early Childhood Inclusive. The Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher is responsible for the delivery and management of the preschool curriculum and special education services to students ages 4-5. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Teach Preschool curriculum to students ages 4-5
- Plan and deliver instruction using best teaching and learning practices in Early Childhood Education
- Manage caseloads
- Preparing, scheduling, and conducting IEPs and MDTs
- Provide services as directed in the IEP
- Provide for the overall supervision of students in the classroom, in/on other district property, and off-site during school sponsored activities
- Supervise paraprofessionals
- Communicate with District staff and service agencies
- Comply with NDE Rule 51 guidelines
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, service providers, and other District staff
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of preschool and special education services
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations
- Provide related services to students
- Meet all appropriate timelines and deadlines with all required tasks, as established by building, district, state, and federal agencies
- Possess high level of professionalism with strong moral and ethical behavior
- Serve as a positive role model to students of the school and district
