TNPRC - Microbiology
Location: Covington, LA
Summary Work in partnership with the Chair, Faculty, Office
Administrative Staff, the Chair's Lab Manager, and other staff members, in a timely and accurate manner, to manage administrative and
research activities of the Division of Microbiology. Serve as the business/financial officer and marketing, hiring and communication manager
for the Division. Manage overall financial aspects of the Division, to include, but not limited to analyzing division budget, ensuring
adequate reconciliation of all accounts, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring research compliance. In coordination with the
Office Administrative Staff and the Chair's lab manager, who oversees the Chair's grants and contracts, he/she is responsible for management
and oversight of research program activities, including providing logistic, administrative, programmatic, and financial support for
sponsored research projects. Responsible for overseeing financial management and human resources within the division. Supervise Division
Administrative staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and expertise with both Mac
and PC computer software and hardware.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to meet
established deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion in the performance of all duties.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 4 years
of relevant experience
OR
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 10 years of relevant
experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic
understanding of biological or general science.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the use of
laboratory animals in research.
- Knowledge of financial and grant management-related software.
- Ability to take
on additional tasks as deemed necessary by the Division.
- Performance improvement skills and change management experience.

Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
