Job Description and Duties

We're looking for a positive and motivated individual to join our Classification and Recruitment team. You will make an impact in this role by supporting hiring supervisors recruit for critical positions in support of managing California's diverse fish, wildlife, and plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend, for their ecological values and for their use and enjoyment by the public.

This position will provide recruitment consultations to hiring supervisors and employees, review and approve Human Resources recruitment transactions, place job advertisements, determine eligibility for candidates, and assist with developing recruitment plans. We will provide the necessary training to ensure you are successful and have the opportunity to grow within state service.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for applicants residing in California. The hybrid schedule currently requires two days a week in office and three days a week teleworking.

We’re located in the new state-of-the-art Natural Resources Building in downtown Sacramento, right next to Light Rail for an easy commute. Working Conditions

This position works in a high-rise building when in-office and involves working on a computer/ the ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day, i.e., working at a computer most of the time. Attendance at virtual and in-person meetings and working groups as necessary is required. This position is eligible for telework consistent with CDFW's current telework policy.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Outstanding customer service skills
Excellent oral communication and organization skills
Personnel, Human Resources experience/knowledge/interest is desired, but not required
