As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Elections Technician A, B, or C depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

No experience or training is required.


NOTE:

After employment, the selected candidate must achieve the required certification on the AVC Advantage and the AVC Edge voting machines before permanent status will be granted.

To maintain, program, and service election equipment.

LEVEL OF WORK:

Entry.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Close from an Election Technician Supervisor or higher level election staff.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None.

LOCATION OF WORK:

Department of State.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from Election Technician B by the absence of experienced level maintenance duties.

Examples of Work

EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.

Communicates on a routine basis with various election officials, general public, poll workers, etc.


Trains to interpret ballot layout and ballot design used for printing of ballots and programming of election equipment.


Performs work required to maintain operable election equipment for use during elections.


Assists in compiling data on serial numbers, protective counter numbers, and election equipment numbers assigned to each precinct.


Provides assistance in training sessions for commissioners.


Assists in training all field part time/seasonal employees on all elections duties, upgrades, and general office duties.


Assists in preparing service call reports which include nature of calls, problems, remedies and times of departure and arrival at the polling locations.


Assists in preparing information on transporting voting machines between warehouses and election precincts.
