Job Title: RN Utilization Review

Location: Oakland, CA 94602

Job Type: Contract

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Pay Range: $70-75

Hours per Week: 40 hours per week

Schedule Details: Day 4x10-Hour (08:00 18:30). Will need to work weekends and holidays as needed. No on-call requirements. May need to float to other departments or campuses as needed.

Experience Required: 2-3 years minimum experience required.

Certificates Required: BSN required. CA RN, BLS required.

Notes: Post hire : must complete Eligibility Academy/Training Programs and respective examination offered through AHS within timeframe determined by supervisor.

Job Requirement:

• 2-3 years minimum experience required.

• Will need to work weekends and holidays as needed. No on-call requirements.

• BSN required. CA RN, BLS required. Must have OB/NICU/PACU or MS/Tele or ICU experience.

• Post hire - must complete Eligibility Academy/Training Programs and respective examination offered through AHS within timeframe determined by supervisor.

• May need to float to other departments or campuses as needed.

• Initial contract will be remote. If offered an extension, extension WILL BE ONSITE. No exceptions.

Job Summary:

• The Utilization Review Nurse is accountable for processing authorizations, applying medical criteria, benefits verification, pre-registration, communication to providers, payers and patients, appeals, and coordination with Utilization Review and Referral Management team.
• This position is responsible for performing core utilization management functions in a timely manner.
• Provides key essential clinical and administrative support to ensure pre-registration and support utilization management operations are smooth and timely.
• Primarily responsible for deciphering medical criteria from payers, submitting authorization requests to health plans or medical groups and communicating with AHS providers, patients and other external entities.
• Performs related duties as required.
