Under the supervision of the Grossing Supervisor and with the professional support of the Grossing Medical Director, the Grossing Assistant Supervisor directs the operations of assigned grossing staff (Pathologists' Assistants, Grossing Technicians) and is responsible for overseeing staffing, setting policy, and overseeing quality monitoring and improvement projects. The Grossing Assistant Supervisor directs and supervises daily activities, staff selection and performance reviews of assigned Pathologists' Assistants and Grossing Technicians. Grossing Assistant Supervisor will assist in CAP preparation and standardization at divisional locations, including preparing documentation, staff training, and performing mock inspections.
It is crucial that the Grossing Assistant Supervisor is knowledgeable about HIPAA, CAP and CLIA regulations, practices and enforces all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures, as this position is exposed to a great number of environmental hazards such as formalin, communicable diseases, fresh human tissue, etc.
Position Schedule : 2 positions available
AM 1st shift position M-F 6-7am start
PM 2nd shift position M-F 4pm start
Essential Duties: - Oversees daily operations of assigned shift team
- Manages all aspects of staffing, including but not limited to scheduling, timecards, and performance reviews
- Mentors, trains, and coaches staff and assists with competency assessments
- Maintains and/ensures employees' productivity and work quality
- Troubleshoot and work to resolve any issues that arise within and between departments
- Assists with departmental quality control and ensures new processes are implemented effectively
- Conducts periodic departmental CAP evaluation to maintain CAP compliance standards
- Frequently and effectively communicates with department staff, pathologists and company management team regarding issues which affect overall operations.
- Assists with all new method and procedure change validations and documentation in the Grossing Department.
- Maintains ongoing continuing education to maintain familiarity with the latest trends in medicine appropriate to the department functions. Appropriately shares this information with CellNetix leadership committees and staff.

Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational, written, verbal and and critical thinking skills
- Must have strong communication and comprehension abilities
- Must behave as a professional role model at all times
- Management skills
- Work well under pressure and maintains professionalism at all times
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be flexible with ability to adapt and adjust
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn new software
- Demonstrates technical and clinical expertise.
Qualifications/Experience: - ASCP certified PA preferred
- 3+ years of grossing experience, preferably in a moderate to high volume laboratory
- Prior leadership experience preferred
Physical Requirements: - Manual dexterity
- Walking, bending, sitting, standing for long periods of time
- Safely lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Occasional travel to other company sites
