Location: This is a full-time position located in Augusta. This opportunity allows partial tele-work with management approval.


The Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention will develop and execute strategic communications to support public understanding of Maine CDC programs and public health efforts. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating Maine CDC staff in developing internal and external communication plans, strategies, and products. This position coordinates with the DHHS Communications Director and DHHS Press Secretary on high-profile communications and serves as the liaison to a broad range of stakeholders, committees, workgroups, and organizations. This position reports to the Director of the Maine CDC.

Core Responsibilities:

The core responsibilities of the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing are:

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, writing, marketing or related field, and eight (8) years' experience in these fields or a related field. In addition, the successful candidate will have at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in above fields.
