Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 174-day Certified Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $42,254 - $72,678 and an additional $3,000 yearly stipend is included.

Purpose of the Job: The Teacher on Special Assignment will provide consistent on-site job embedded support for the school principal through administrative duties as directed by the principal. This position is designed for an opportunity for educators who are looking for leadership opportunities and who might have the desire to become a principal. The TOSA will also provide literacy coaching support with a strong understanding and expertise in the newly adopted literacy curriculum, Amplify CKLA.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS: Education: Must have Bachelor’s Degree, Preferred Master's Degree or higher with concentration in Literacy and/or Educational Leadership
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience
Licenses/Certificates: Must hold Colorado Department of Education Teaching License, Preferred Principal’s license or the ability to obtain. Must take the required CDE evaluation training.
Other Criteria: Preferred knowledge of Literacy Content, i.e: Praxis exam or endorsements related to Literacy, Willingness to complete the Science of Reading requirements by CDE, during first year of employment. Preference will be given to those seeking principal licensure and who have a desire to become a district leader.

- Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
- Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
- Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
- Competent understanding of technology to perform the job.
- Must pass pre-employment physical.
- Must be MANDT trained.
- Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs).
- Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
- Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
- Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
- Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
- Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB: - Support district level instructional improvement.
- Utilize data to improve instruction.
- Use effective instructional feedback for strategies to support teaching and learning through the teacher evaluation process.
- Ensure instructors are supporting students through differentiated instruction and prescriptive interventions needed.
- Participate in building level leadership and decision making for building improvement.
- Establishes relationships with students, staff, and school families.
- Assist school in Assessments and could act at the School Assessment Coordinator.
- Under the direction of the principal the TOSA will:
- Establish and/or maintain a climate conducive to student academic and social progress which includes safety and security throughout the school.
- Establish the instructional program as a priority.
- Ensure articulation/implementation of curriculum is being met.
- Manages and appropriately assigns resources.
- Assists with enforcing school behavior policies by following established behavioral matrix.
- Guides professional learning.
- Support school level committees and school events.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER: Various office/school building equipment including, but not limited to: computers, copy and FAX machines, building specific technology.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Certified and Classified staff.
