QA / PLANNING ASSISTANT
Rome, GA 30165
Position Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: QA/PL Supervisor ; Quality Manager
Position Summary
This position supports quality assurance activities while assisting new/yearly model development projects. Communicates with the company and all SMAC departments closely to make sure production parts, processes, and quality inspection meet requirements.
SMAC
Principal Tasks
- Coordinate ATV and engine emission test.
ATV
- Coordinate stop shipment, rework, campaign, and recall matters in a timely manner.
- Summarize monthly warranty claim cost.
- Assist investigation of market claims that are addressed by SMC.
SMC
- Consolidate costs incurred due to supplier defects and charge back to the responsible supplier (including KD imported parts)
KD
- Download and control SES (technical standards) & SIS (Inspection Standards) within the SMAC system.
SES SIS
- Creates SMAC yearly model development schedule, model/color sheet, and model difference list and informs all SMAC departments.
SMAC
- Assist periodical project meeting with all SMAC departments to share necessary information that came from SMC. This may not be limited to product development plans or ECN( Design Change Notification) information.
SMAC SMC ECN
- Summarizes requests and issues found during model developing stages to share with company to improve our products as well as productivity.
SMC
- Understand Engineering Change Notice (ECN) sent from SMC, ,translate, and make notes for all SMAC team members to understand.
SMC SMAC
- Issues IPP tags and maintains ECN (Design change) timeline as well as yearly model difference lists.

Special Skills
- Must understand Japanese manufacturing system
- Must be very organized and be able to plan and assist the project such as product development.
- Must have computer skills, especially the knowledge of excel spreadsheets.
- Must be bilingual (English and Japanese verbally and in written). Understand both American and Japanese culture, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
