Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and collaborative Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for working onsite, participating in a dynamic team environment, and contributing to the development of software solutions. You will collaborate with team members, recommend solutions, and apply your knowledge of object-oriented programming and the software development lifecycle.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to work onsite and actively participate as a team member.
  • You will contribute your expertise in software development, collaborating with colleagues to understand and solve complex problems. It is essential to have a solid understanding of the environment in which you are working, as it will greatly enhance your ability to develop effective solutions.
  • Your role will involve collaborating closely with team members and participating in the entire software development lifecycle.
  • You will be responsible for recommending solutions, utilizing your knowledge of object-oriented programming and the Java programming language. While strong proficiency in Java is preferred, experience with C++ is highly desirable.
  • You must have a good understanding of the software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming concepts, and version control systems such as CVS, SVN, and preferably Git.

Minimum Requirements

  • Onsite availability and willingness to actively participate as a team member.
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex development environments effectively.
  • Strong collaborative teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in recommending solutions to software challenges.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills, particularly in an intense Java environment.
  • C++ programming experience.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of the Java programming language.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of software configuration management systems, preferably CVS, SVN, or Git.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior operational and/or administrative experience with the Global Command and Control System - Joint family of products.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of the C/C++ programming language.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of secure coding standards.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, and JavaScript libraries such as Angular, Vue.js, React, etc.
  • Familiarity with container environments such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including GitOps.
  • Experience with automated deployment tools such as ArgoCD and FluxCD.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including visits to Ft. Meade, COCOMs (Combatant Commands), and occasional travel to DISA's HQ.
