Job description

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Lead Engineer, Digital Enterprise to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY in a hybrid capacity. 

Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:

• Drive the implementation of a digital engineering enterprise across our business.
• Collaborate with key NNPP organizations (e.g., key stakeholders from shipyards, vendors, etc) across many domains of work to drive the execution of the first of a kind Digital Enterprise implementation plan and that supports high level NNPP bold initiatives.
• Work to align Program resources over the highest priority digital initiatives and will work closely with the product lines to understand project needs and schedule, as well as with IT and technology groups to align the technology development and deployment efforts with the overall digital transformation enterprise vision and plan.
• Communicate on technical and project issues to senior leadership at NNPP, as well as keep abreast of new emerging technologies in the digital domain. Some travel may be required.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:

• To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
• Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is requ  ired.

Desired Skills:

• A demonstrated can-do attitude and a desire to learn new things. 
• Demonstrated familiarity with Agile processes and execution.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management tools.
• Experience using CAD tools.
• Experience in Model Based Design.
• Experience in Model Based System Engineering. 
• Some knowledge or experience in IT systems.

About the Site:

The Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, is part of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) which provides broad support for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in the design, development, improvement, maintenance, training for operation of naval nuclear propulsion plants, and ultimate disposition of the plants ( energy.gov ).

COMPENSATION: GEM does not publish salary ranges on external job boards; all ranges listed are estimates made by vendors and not actual salary ranges. GEM’s offered compensation is dependent on candidates’ education, qualifications, and relevant years of experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge/experience of work and engineering tools related to a digital transformation for a similar size organization.
• Knowledge/experience with data management strategies and technologies. 
• Experience with enterprise-wide implementation of new technology solutions. 
• Demonstration of strong teaming and collaboration skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Experience in project management of large projects.
