The Tax Manager will play a key role in assisting the Sr. Manager - Federal Tax Compliance in running all aspects of the U.S. Domestic Income Tax Compliance function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Income Tax Compliance and Audit –
- Manage all aspects of domestic income tax compliance including preparation of book to tax workpapers, tax account reconciliations, and quarterly estimates/extension payment calculations.
- Review consolidated and subsidiary income tax returns, accompanying forms and schedules prepared by external firm.
- Gather and analyze key data for various international tax calculations under TCJA (BEAT, FDII, GILTI, 163J) used for both compliance and provision purposes.
- Assist with IRS CAP compliance audit documentation as well as research and resolve various tax compliance notices.
Financial Reporting –
- Have a working knowledge of ASC 740 and collaborate with Tax Accounting team to support income tax reporting and SEC filing as needed.
- Prepare and review components of the Company’s consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations as they pertain to US domestic subsidiaries.
- Manage return to provision analysis, tax basis balance sheet validation and assisting Tax Accounting team with analyzing results.
Tax Planning and Other –
- Provide support to Tax Planning team with due diligence requests around mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations. Assist with preparation of opening balance sheet adjustments, gain/loss summaries and other tax impacts of such transactions.
- Conduct tax research and support the development and implementation of strategic tax planning for various tax minimization efforts such as US R&D Tax Credits.
- Prepare quarterly and annual cash tax forecast used by Treasury and FP&A.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements around the tax function that drive automation and efficiencies.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience focused on U.S. corporate income tax compliance with a public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation tax department.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate income tax compliance and working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax provision.
- Communication and collaboration skills are a must. This role will require ongoing communication with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will need to be able to communicate tax to non-tax teams.
- Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills are required.
- Experience in computer skills utilizing MS office suite and data analytics software such as Alteryx or Power BI.
Preferred Experience:
- Educational background with a focus on tax (MS in Taxation and/or CPA are preferred)
- Experience managing projects and processes involving external advisors, auditors, finance and business teams.
- Working knowledge of ERP and reporting software systems such as SAP, BPC, Central Finance or Oracle.
- Working knowledge of tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource or Corptax
