NOT a Remote Position. Hybrid Option currently available - must be able to come into the office located in Erie, PA.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Business Intelligence Developer will have the responsibility to provide actionable business intelligence in consultation with management and business units for use in daily and strategic decision making. Identify, interpret and implement data and analytical-centric solutions. Transform raw data into meaningful insights by creating interactive, intuitive and user-friendly dashboards and reports. Support technical analysis from a data integration and development perspective.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop complete knowledge of Erie FCU BI systems, BI development, and support/administration of BI tools.
- Develop interactive, intuitive and user-friendly graphical dashboards and reports from appropriate data sources.
- Use PowerBI/applicable scripting languages and data visualizations with SDK.
- Use SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), query tuning and data structure development to connect data sources.
- Credit union stakeholder engagement, identification, and coordination efforts to support data and analytical-centric solution delivery.
- Develop and document robust, high-quality processes and solutions according to Erie FCU standards and procedures to produce desired outcomes.
- Plan, analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain digital applications with appropriate technology.
- Enhance data source capabilities with efficient design and new integration.
- Use agile data development methodologies.
- Identify, coordinate and migrate relevant data and data sources.
- Cleanse and validate information from various sources.
- Hands-on data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects.
- Directly communicate with stakeholders regarding system capabilities and potential development/programming solutions.
- Resolve questions of program intent, data input/output requirements and internal checks and controls.
- Maintain best practices for all aspects of the data lifecycle while continually enhancing existing databases and solutions.
- ELT/ETL processes, data warehouse architecture, and data formatting.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of user needs, system functions, and steps required to develop or modify custom solutions.
- Backup and secure storage of all data resources.
- Maintain industry proficiency via ongoing educational training, conferences, and self-learning.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures, including compliance with federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.

JOB SKILL SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree with a major in MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred OR Associate's Degree/ Two (2) years of College + Two (2) years of related work experience. Work experience must have an emphasis on programming, scripting/coding experience required.
- Comprehensive understanding of coding - Required: PowerBI/SQL
Preferred: PERL/PHP/HTML5/CSS/Python. - Data presentation/reporting.
- Data analysis.
- Data aggregation.
- Excel/pivot tables/lookups/core functions.
- Knowledge with data extraction and integration.
- Prior financial institution experience preferred.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze and interpret documents and industry literature, understand procedures, write reports, speak clearly with peers.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Ability to work independently.
