Your New Role...
The Assistant Editor is responsible for media asset management, transcoding and editorial workflows for the Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing (WWTVM) Department. The Assistant Editor ingest media and output for multiple departments, including Servicing, On Air Editorial, Social Media, Publicity, Post Ops, and more. Editorial duties include project preparation, string-outs, assembly, restores, clean prints, basic editing, and QC of master files (clip reels, cut downs, etc.). This role also supports live production and videography workflows as needed.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Handles asset management (Linear Tape Open, Shared Storage, cloud) using Avid Interplay & others
Media ingest and/or output to/from editorial and transcoding
Tests, improves, troubleshoots, and creates new workflows in AVID
Edits (string-outs, assembly, restores, editorial projects as assigned)
Supports live production workflows including managing camera equipment, lighting equipment, ingesting footage, and logistical support
Creates, manages, and quality controls new assets for Clip Reel Database
Digital Cinema Package creation for assets delivered around the world
Manages and implements new equipment within the Machine room
Performs additional job-related duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience...
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years in post-production editorial environment.
Minimum 3 years as assistant editor in Avid environment.
Previous entertainment industry experience required.
Experience in content marketing a plus.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
BA/BS Degree or other comparable training required.
Knowledge/Skills
Experience in fast-paced post-production environment with multiple editors, producers, and stakeholders, working under tight deadlines.
Extensive hands-on experience with Avid Isis, Avid Interplay & Avid Media Composer in an offline/online environment including a basic understanding of troubleshooting procedures.
Must be experienced using Media Asset Management (MAM) systems.
Deep understanding of industry best practices for tiered storage management and archive using LTO and cloud storage (AWS and MS Azure) in a post-production environment.
Experience with SGL and/or Masstech LTO archive software
Understanding of Filemaker Pro, Reach Engine, MOG, Avid Protools, Telestream Vantage, DaVinci Resolve.
Experience with creating, adhering to, and enforcing delivery specs including the ability to use a waveform monitor/vectorscope for picture and standard metering tools in Avid for audio.
Participated in creation, testing and execution of workflow changes with many stakeholders.
Knowledge of DCPs, Digests and KDMs for screenings.
Must be highly productive and maintain a high standard of technical quality in accordance with broadcast standards.
Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Knowledge of advertising and promotional terminology and procedures, including, but not limited to, image formats, graphics, logos, etc.), video (duplication, etc.), new technology (platforms, libraries, digital asset management, etc.) and written (synopses, log lines, running orders, fact sheets, etc.) material.
Must have extensive knowledge in all video resolutions, formats, and codecs. (3480x2160, 1920x1080, UHD, DNXHD, ProRes, MXF…)
Author and burn BLU-RAY’s and DVD’s.
Creation and prep of EDLs, AAFs, XMLs for finishing.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $42,224.00 - $78,416.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
