AVP - US Capital and Leverage Management (CaLM)

As a Barclays Assistant Vice President - US Capital and Leverage Management (CaLM), you are accountable for the efficient and effective management of Barclays US capital, with a focus on implementation of Basel IV based capital forecasting and dual stack reporting capabilities for BBDE. You will work with colleagues across Treasury, Finance, Risk, and businesses in other jurisdictions. Capital and Leverage Management (CALM) monitors and manages capital risks, and manages capital ratios, for the Barclays Group and its subsidiaries.

What will you be doing?

•    Partnering with a wide range of stakeholders to develop creative and effective solutions for the deployment of financial resources within the Americas and the broader group 
•    Coordinating across the capital, liquidity, funding and risk management mandates of Treasury, Risk, Finance and businesses, to assist with Basel IV implementation
•    Comprehending and planning capital implications of the Basel IV on BBDE Capital and broader Group
•    Ideating, designing, and implementing new Basel IV capital management requirements including dual stack capital reporting and related management information reports
•    Supporting US Treasury with project management of Basel IV implementation including business requirement document, testing, and sign offs
•    Leading stakeholder communication and engagement across functions including Business, Finance and Technology
•    Linking current capital management tool, Cyrus with new requirements under Basel IV
•    Building capital forecasting capabilities under dual capital stack requirements of Basel IV and linking to existing systems and flows for stress testing including CCAR

What we’re looking for:

•    Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree 
•    Knowledge of financial and capital regulations, e.g., FRB, Dodd-Frank S165 Regulation YY
•    Familiarity with FDIC requirements in relation to bank holding company and Total Loss Absorbing Capacity – TLAC
•    Experience with project management, stakeholder management, preparation of management information packs and presentation

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Knowledge of both investment banking and retail business models and associated financial resource implications
•    Experience with capital management practices including Basel and agencies capital rules
•    Experience with CCAR or an equivalent capital planning and stress testing regime
•    Familiarity with financial and non-financial risk management for financial institutions
