Job description

Effective presentation skills are vital in this role, as well as the ability to ensure standards and goals are met in each timeframe. Therefore, planning, and critical thinking skills are both essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate will also act with our students in mind and establish and maintain effective relationships with students to gain their trust and respect.
- Conduct classroom and shop training utilizing proper instructional techniques, practices and following approved curriculum on the following topics:
- AC/DC Electricity & Digital Electronics
- Industrial Mechanics – Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Drives
- Programmable Logic Controllers
- Industrial Networking
- Manufacturing Systems such as 3D Printing, Conveyors, and Industrial Robots
- Utilize equipment and training aids in daily lessons
- Report all damaged or missing instructional equipment
- Ensure that classroom and shop areas are kept clean, orderly and promotes a learning environment
- Maintain and record student attendance and grades
- Prepare class lessons and test in a timely manner
- Administer tests and make-up tests per UTI procedures manual
- Ensure that students follow all established policies, procedures, and safety practices
- Ensure that a professional training environment is always maintained in the classroom and shop areas
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 3 yrs practical work experience (excludes teaching) - Mechatronics experience is preferred
- Programmable Logic Control experience preferred
- C Programming preferred
- Autodesk Inventor experience a plus
- Teaching experience a plus
Skills
- Ability to instruct students of various ages and diverse backgrounds
- Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)
- Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information
- Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be able to work alone or with a team
Abilities
- Must be able to instruct two consecutive courses per workday; number of hours will vary based on campus location and program (applies to campuses with ADT II curriculum)
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short periods of time during the workday
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time during the workday
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for all the workday
- Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
- Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Working Conditions
- Majority of time spent in education environment
- Work will consist an 8-hour day, 75% teaching and 25% administration
- Appropriate safety measures must be followed
- Exposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry
Pay and Benefits
- Hiring pay range $34.00 - $36.00 per hour (depending on experience)
