Global ECCO Faculty Associate for Research | NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL

Naval Postgraduate School

Location

Monterey, CA | United States

Job description

The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is accepting applications for the position of Global Education Community Collaboration Online (ECCO) Faculty Associate – Research in the Department of Defense Analysis (DA). NPS provides graduate education to military officers of the uniformed services, Department of Defense civilians, and members of the international defense community. The DA department provides three graduate curricula, one for studying special operations and irregular warfare, a second focusing on information operations and political warfare, and a third examining applied design for innovation. The DA Department’s mission is simple: to arm select US and international military professionals and interagency personnel with the critical thinking skills and specialized knowledge they will need to wage and prevail in the complex conflicts underway — and those to come.

Global ECCO is funded by the Regional Defense Fellowship Program (RDFP) and its mission is to build and strengthen the RDFP global alumni network of Irregular Warfare and Regional Defense experts through innovative and engaging technologies and techniques that both enable and encourage collaborative partnerships between individuals, organizations, and nations. We are looking for a Faculty Associate to join our Global ECCO team in picturesque Monterey, California, to work under the direction of a faculty member as a developer, facilitator, and evaluator of educational games. The position is based on a one-year contract with one-year extensions contingent upon funding.

The primary purpose of this position is to support and contribute to Global ECCO’s efforts in educational computer games used primarily at RDFP-affiliated schoolhouses. This dynamic position will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of educational gaming experiences aimed at fostering international collaboration and promoting learning in the field. The primary responsibilities of this role encompass the conceptualization, design, development, play-testing, and facilitation of interactive educational games aligned to the learning objectives of RDFP-sponsored curriculum, communicating with RDFP schoolhouses, working with game developers, and managing game facilitation schedules and after-action report tracking with Global ECCO team members. This role requires a significant amount of travel and engagement with a diverse, global audience.

The Global ECCO program offers a unique opportunity to contribute to international education and cultural exchange through innovative gaming experiences. If you meet the qualifications and are enthusiastic about promoting global collaboration through education, we encourage you to apply for this exciting position.

Applicants shall submit: 1) a cover letter describing their qualifications, 2) a curriculum vitae or resume, and 3) contact and e-mail address information for a minimum of three references. The application material shall clearly state the applicant’s citizenship. Applications should be submitted electronically to: [email protected]

The Naval Postgraduate School is an equal-opportunity employer. For additional information about NPS, please refer to the website at . For additional information about Global ECCO, please refer to the website at .
