Job Overview

Intuit QuickBooks is on a mission to help small businesses with their finances and eliminates drudgery so entrepreneurs can focus on what they do best: running their business. We are looking for a strong quantitative risk strategy lead who is an experienced risk and payments professional responsible for developing risk solutions for faster and better decisioning to facilitate sustainable business growth. This lead will be part of an innovative, fast-paced, and deeply passionate team that is determined to change the way SMBs get paid, to make it so they “can’t imagine going back to the old way” ever again.

This role is responsible for assisting in driving financial risk aspects of business initiatives as well as responding to financial fraud-related events and demands. Successful candidates for this role will leverage industry knowledge, risk expertise, statistical modeling/analytics, and innovative risk strategies and solutions to enable Intuit SMB growth and expansion, achieve optimal profitability, and enhance trust-related consumer and merchant experience.

Qualifications

MS/PhD in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Mathematic, Finance, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field with 2+ years working experience in data analytics or data science related role. Or bachelor’s degree in same fields with 4+ years working experience

Proficient in SQL, Python, Tableau, and Excel, working knowledge of A/B testing is a plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiar with statistical modeling, loss forecasting, and collections. Having working knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry fraud and risk trends is a plus

Have a track record of diving into data and drive data insights for business needs both quantitatively and qualitatively

Passion for analyzing data and an insatiable curiosity to understand complex business issues and proactively looking for business opportunities and drive new innovations

Ability to tell stories with data, educate effectively, and instill confidence, motivating stakeholders to act on recommendations

Able to work in a fast-paced working environment, multitask, balancing short & long term strategic implications to meet or exceed business objectives

Responsibilities

Use advanced analytical techniques to mine massive scale account and transactional data to build/optimize financial risk strategies/policies, and translate into actionable business plans

Lead the full cycle of risk strategy/policy work, including identify opportunities and action plan, develop and test policy, launch policy to production and monitor the performance

Build subject matter expertise in different types of risks among money movement offerings to optimize the balance between risk mitigation and growth in the Intuit ecosystem

Team up with our data scientist, risk operations, product, data engineering, analytics teams closely to drive customer segmentations, develop innovative risk strategies, and perform portfolio analyses

Test into and recommend 3rd party data providers to solve individual/business credit risk and other types of exposure risk

Design, implement, and monitor testing to explore new methodologies and estimate key metrics for our risk strategies

Must have good judgement with the ability to think creatively and strategically
